Dermaray Laser Comb For the Medical Treatment of Hair Loss.

Dermaray Laser - to address the symptoms of hair loss

Total Control Pty Ltd, trading as TCG Industrial are pleased to announce the launch of the first Australian-made 100mW hand-held, hair loss laser. Designed, constructed and tested in Australia under ISO international quality control standards, the Dermaray Laser represents the finest quality and most technologically advanced hair loss laser system available today; existing hair loss lasers are now obsolete.

Dermaray Laser is the ONLY fully customisable, fully programmable and fully self-contained, hand-held laser system available.

Dermaray Laser is an LLLT cosmetic laser system. Cold RED lasers are frequently used for the treatment of hair loss, cosmetic applications such as wrinkle reduction, wound regeneration and physiotherapy. Low Level Laser Therapy has been proven safe between 1-500mW at a range of wavelengths. Devices based on 1-5mW lasers are typically video game accessories, laser pointers, laser pens and power tools. To deliver the required amount of energy quickly and efficiently over the scalp, stronger lasers are required.

Dermaray Laser's standard configuration is a power output of 5 x 20mW lasers at 660nm for a total of 100mW RED laser energy. Some laser combs only contain a single low powered laser module (sometimes less than half a milliwatt). Many other brands contain low-powered and ineffective LEDs not actual laser modules; and some even claim to have 16-20 LEDs, but actually only contain 2 and a series of plastic mirrors. With Dermaray® you receive exactly what we describe, and our technical specifications are far in excess of all other laser devices.

Key features of the Dermaray Laser include:

• Dermaray Laser contains 512kb memory capacity for storing treatment statistics and session information.

• Dermaray Laser offers an easy, unique and innovative configuration wizard that prompts the user for the skin condition to treat, skin type and areas requiring treatment and then calculates suggested exposure times accordingly.

• The Dermaray Phototherapy Operating System (POS) intelligently and dynamically manages frequency and duration of each treatment exposure significantly improving patient safety and dramatically reducing the possibility of over exposure.

• Ability to activated or deactivate individual laser modules for a smaller treatment area, for example a spot treatment.

• Electronic recording of total exposures and previous session times with auxiliary battery backup.

• Onboard speaker warns against potential problems, onboard system diagnostics and configuration parameters.

• Unique safety proximity detector to protect against accidental exposure and eye damage, deactivates the laser emission if an unsafe situation is detected.

• Convenient battery operation.

Dermaray Laser comes with a universal in-line approved power supply and two pairs of safety goggles, large and small design. To help protect our environment, recycled cardboard packaging has been used where possible. RoHS compliant lead-free manufacturing processes have been followed to reduce hazardous materials.

Dermaray Laser retails for $895 USD.

Dermaray UV For the Home Treatment of Psoriasis, Vitiligo and Atopic Dermatitis

Dermaray UV is a hand held ultraviolet light for treatment of the symptoms of Psoriasis, Vitiligo, Dermatitis and other skin conditions

About Ultraviolet Light Treatment

Clinical Trials over many, many years have proven that Narrow Band Ultraviolet Light is effective in treating skin conditions such as Psoriasis, Vitiligo, Dermatitis and Acne.

One of the most prevalent and persistent skin conditions is Psoriasis. Psoriasis is a chronic, non-contagious autoimmune disease which affects the skin and joints. It commonly causes red scaly patches to appear on the skin. UVB has been used to treat psoriasis for more than 75 years, initially in combination with crude coal tar, and later as monotherapy. UVB has been the phototherapy of choice for psoriasis since it was found to be less carcinogenic than PUVA (psoralen plus ultraviolet A phototherapy), and since the development in the late 1980s of a highly efficacious UVB lamp, termed "narrow band UVB".

UVB lamps are lamps that emit a spectrum of ultraviolet light of 290-320 nanometers. In general the skin does not need much of the UVB energy to generate Vitamin D3, and few minutes in a day are enough. Patients taking a course of UVB treatment usually attend their local Dermatology Clinic three times each week for eight to 10 weeks. In many cases this leads to complete or almost complete clearance of the disease.

The Dermaray Brand.

Dermaray is the registered brand name for what we believe to be the future in innovative and safe personal phototherapy devices. Over the last 11 years of selling established phototherapy devices, TCG Industrial has gained a solid understanding of the market, and the limitations of existing hand held, portable devices. The Directors saw a need for a product which was technically advanced in terms of its functionality, incorporated important safety features, and was reliable. They believed they could use their experience and design a range of pedigree phototherapy devices. In 2002, TCG Industrial began the design and development of the Dermaray product range.

In 2002 TCG Industrial began the design and development of the first Australian-made, portable ultraviolet narrow band device. TCG's Head Hardware Developer has solid design and development skills in both the Medical Industry (personally designed and developed TENs machines) and Information Technology (telecommunications technology for Australia's largest carriers).

Dermaray Home Phototherapy

Phototherapy is a medical term used to describe treatment by controlled application and exposure of light. Many diseases and conditions respond to phototherapy; most noticeably inflammatory conditions such as psoriasis and auto immune conditions such as vitiligo. Laser phototherapy is also used extensively in the treatment of hair loss. Traditionally phototherapy was only available at specialist hospitals and clinics.

Due to the nature of light treatment, ongoing application is required usually 3 or 4 times a week for a number of months and then less frequently as required. The high demands of treatment would lead to a large proportion of phototherapy patients failing to complete their treatment program due to time and financial restraints. This has lead to the increased popularity of home phototherapy. Recent medical studies have proven that home phototherapy is as safe and effective as clinical phototherapy. But surprisingly, there have been no innovations in home phototherapy for decades.

When attending a clinic for phototherapy a nurse or doctor would calculate and administer each treatment given to a patient. Part of this process would be establishing an initial treatment length, frequency of treatments, and at what rate each subsequent treatment was increased up to a safe maximum exposure for all future treatments. These calculations are made with consideration given to the patient's skin type, disease being treated and the overall power output of the phototherapy equipment being used. It goes without saying that establishing a safe and effective phototherapy treatment regime requires some experience and skill. So how do home phototherapy patients manage their own treatments?

Most phototherapy manufacturers expect home patients to establish and manage their own treatment programs. This often involves many calculations, record keeping in a diary, an external digital timer, some guess work and some trial and error. Unfortunately over exposure with Ultra Violet or UV phototherapy can lead to sunburn like symptoms such as burning, itchiness and blisters increasing the risk of skin cancer. Under exposure may mean less than expected results from the treatment. Dermaray Phototherapy systems address these issues removing the guess work from home phototherapy and automating the process of establishing an effective and safe home phototherapy treatment program.

Dermaray Phototherapy systems incorporate a built in computer system and trademark operating system that calculates each and every treatment. Unique safe guards help to prevent accidental exposure to the patient and also people. Dermaray systems are convenient to use with cordless battery operation and can be used and recharged worldwide thanks to a universal power adapter and charger. Dermaray products are suitable for the novice or seasoned home phototherapy user.

Dermaray phototherapy product range consists of two key systems; the Dermaray UV and Dermaray Laser. Dermaray-UV is based on proven Philips narrow band UVB-NB311 medical technology and is suitable for home or clinical treatment of psoriasis, vitiligo, dermatitis and acne. Dermaray-Laser is based on powerful industrial grade laser modules and has proven successful in the treatment of hair loss, physiotherapy, wound regeneration and pain management.
